I have recently replaced uTorrent with Transmission as my BitTorrent client. However, although Transmission is very light and easy to use, it is a bit too basic and I miss some of the features found in uTorrent. I personally don't like running windows apps in Wine, I'd rather run a native application. While browsing the net, I came across a program which seems to meet all my specifications.
Deluge is a full-featured BitTorrent client which is available for Linux, Windows and Mac. It features a collection of plugins which provide most of the functionality of Deluge. One of its nicest features is encryption enabled as default. Here is an overview of Deluge's features.
- Web UI
- BitTorrent Protocol Encryption
- Mainline DHT
- Local Peer Discovery (aka LSD)
- FAST protocol extension
- µTorrent Peer Exchange
- UPnP and NAT-PMP
- Proxy support
- Web seed
- Private Torrents
- Global and per-torrent speed limits
- Configurable bandwidth scheduler
- Password protection
- RSS
- And much more!

ReplyDeleteIt should be vista compatible but I think there might be some minor issues with some plugins.
